Why I support The Millie Rose Foundation

The Millie Rose Foundation is deeply personal to me. I was fortunate to be present at the birth of beautiful Millie Rose, and being a part of her story from day one is the driving force behind my commitment.

Serving as a trustee is my way of honouring her memory and ensuring her legacy continues to bring hope, comfort, and vital support to other families.

My experience supporting children and families

Through my time at Darlington Hippodrome and Volunteering at a local performing arts centre, I spent over 10 years supporting children build their confidence through dramatic arts and have helped underprivileged children find their voice. I have arranged and led workshops and believe we gave children a safe space to be themselves.

My Fundraising Experience

I have helped support fundraising campaigns for charities such as Help for Heroes, The Great North Air Ambulance and The Great North Children's Hospital. Most recently, I assisted in organizing and running a stall at the first ever Team Millie event on the 24th July 2026.

I have also given speeches for fundraising events at the Great North Air Ambulance Service speaking with investors and patrons. I hope that I can bring what I have learned during these events to my time with The Millie Rose Foundation.

What I hope to bring to the Foundation

As a trustee, I bring a personal dedication to preserving Millie Rose's memory alongside practical experience inn planning and running workshops. I hope these will give children and families a small respite and to help the children build confidence, explore self expression and bring joy back into their lives. I hope to help the Foundation expand its reach, build strong community connections, and ensure we can offer meaningful support to as many families as possible. Most of all, I hope we can keep Millie's legacy alive and bring families the love and kindness that she shared with the world.
